2. NO number coding. So, feel free to roam around these cities anytime: ** TAGUIG, MARIKINA and PARANAQUE
3. PASIG CITY has LONGER window hours of 9am to 4pm (note the 1 hour additional to the normal 10am-3pm window)

4. SAN JUAN now has window hours (10am-3pm), according to MMDA website.

5. PASAY CITY is implementing number coding *EXCEPT* on the following roads: Ninoy Aquino Avenue, MIA Road , Domestic Road , Portions of Airport Road, Sales Road and Tramo.

6. EDSA, C-5, Pres. Diosdado Macapagal Blvd., Roxas Blvd. (Pasay) have window hours (between 10am-3pm) regardless of the city (meaning one can drive via EDSA in Makati from 10am-3pm any day).

7. For the rest of Metro Manila (Caloocan, Mandaluyong, Manila, Muntinlupa, Navotas, parts of Pasay, Pateros, Quezon City, Taguig, and Valenzuela) number coding is in effect (window hours of 10am-3pm is also observed)

Below is an email from a citizen who got fed-up with MMDA abuse:<

TOOLS AGAINST MMDA OFFICERS

I just reached my limit last weekend, and decided to take action against the abusive MMDA enforcers. I basically called up the MMDA head office and inquired from the Personnel Officer, Antonio Pagulayan, to clarify their policies. Here is what I got.

If any of these abuses seem familiar to you, Mr. Antonio Pagulayan (Personnel Officer) has asked that you call either the MMDA hotline (136) or call the METRO BASE at 0920 9389861 or 0920 9389875 and ask for an Inspectorate. They will send inspectors to the place where these MMDA officers are extorting, even while you are arguing out of your apprehension.

1. MMDA officers are not allowed to group together in order to apprehend. They are not even allowed to stand together in groups of 2 or more. The only time they are allowed to work together is for special operations (probably when they apprehend groups of buses for smoke belching)

2. Swerving IS NOT a traffic violation. Moving one lane to the left or right is not swerving, no matter where on the road you do it. And it is even less of a violation when you do it with a signal. Swerving is defined as shifting 2 or more lanes very quickly. So you can argue your way out of this, and call the Metro Base for help.

3. Sadly, using the yellow lane is a traffic violation and will get you a ticket. However, buses are really not allowed to go out of the yellow lane, so if you see selective apprehension of private cars only, you may complain.

4. MMDA has confirmed that your license MAY NOT BE CONFISCATED for a traffic apprehension. The only time they can do so is if you are part of an accident, or it is your third violation and you have not settled your fines yet. They are only allowed to give you a ticket, which you can contest. He recommends actually receiving the ticket in some instances, so that you can report the officer who did it.

5. Also, you are free to ask any of these officers for their "mission order", which is written by their supervisor. If they apprehend you for a violation that is not in their mission order for the day, you can report them and they will receive disciplinary action.*

Faith Walk

The life of Jesus is bracketed by two impossibilities:
a virgin’s womb and an empty tomb.

Jesus entered our world through a door marked “No Entrance”
and left through a door marked “No Exit.”

And for all who feel it is impossible
to overcome the situations facing them,
sickness, death, divorce, persecution,
loneliness, despair, addictions,
Jesus stands at the human door
marked “No Way” and knocks.

I’m Coming with You!

A wife said to her husband, “I’m so tired of our fighting. I can’t take it anymore. I’m leaving the house!” And the husband said, “Me too! I can’t take it anymore either. I don’t want to stay in this house, too! I’m coming with you.”

Wisdom Strokes

Class acts involve doing what is right, and not just what is popular. Choosing the difficult part rather than the expedient ones. People of class are people of dignity.

Happy Birthday, Mayk

Mico: That’s how we call him when he was just a kid. Fastest running in school. So smart, he is a threat to all  the institutionalized honor student for fear he will steal their crown.

This is Mayk and Me when I was four.

Mike: In Highschool. A consistently coping student but he always managed to pass the tests required to make him stay. Still, I’ll forever envy him for having the chance to study at the school for the smartest kids in the country.

Mayk: In college. The fastest runner in the university. He’s won competitions, so many, his medals are just scattered at home. A silent rebel, you will never know unless he tells you himself. Thank God he never left Mayk. He, again, met God and found the passion of his life. Oh, and he invited me to join him and experience things I would not have seen had I stayed in my little circle.

Now at 27, he continues on living a passionate life, with his wife. And I continue on being challenged on pursuing my own passion.

Happy Birthday, Kuya. 🙂

To My Beloved

Got first acquainted with him middle 2008, I think. I cannot exactly remember. But I’m quite sure he remembers it (His memory is so sharp he’s memorized the product key of Windows AND Microsoft installers). Actually spoke with him in September. Was in an “official” relationship with him by November (the “world” knew about it by December). Was engaged to him by August. Married him December 2009. Fast huh?

He was never slow. He was the bravest man my mom has ever known. One of the most respectful men my dad has ever met. Has become a brother to my brothers (they all look alike, it was as if I was the “adopted” one). A provider to his family. A pillar to his siblings. A beloved kuya to his cousins. An example to be imitated according his aunts. “Mahal” to me.

To the man who changed my surname to what it is today: Happy Birthday.
